The paraurethral ducts in men1 ,2 are small blind channels lined with squamous epithelium that run parallel to the terminal part of the urethra for varying distances, opening near or within the lips of the external meatus.3 Neisseria gonorrhoeae can infect the paraurethral ducts, causing gonococcal inflammation of the paraurethral glands.4 ,5 Ninety-five men were diagnosed with gonococcal inflammation of the paraurethral glands in our department between October 1997 and October 2013.
