    Abstract

The introduction of UK clinical guidelines on post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) following sexual exposure to HIV (Fisher et al. 2006), set clear standards for the delivery of PEP to those who present to sexual health and acute care settings with a concern about HIV exposure (Donaldson 2006). This short report considers the extent to which those presenting for PEP following potential sexual exposure had been encouraged to do so by their PEP-aware partners with diagnosed HIV.
