Peer review at STI

All papers submitted to STI are reviewed by the editorial team with about 50% rejected without being sent out for external peer review on the grounds of priority, insufficient originality, scientific flaws, or the absence of a message that is important to the readers of the journal. A decision on such papers is taken very quickly, usually within 7 days.

The remaining articles are assigned to one of the Associate Editors who will send it to one or more external reviewers selected from a database of more than 1000 experts. The paper may also be sent to to a specialist statistical reviewer.
