Sometimes we need reminding who we are and what our objectives are. BASHH—The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV—is the biggest organisation of its kind worldwide. Its objectives are

  • To promote, encourage and improve the study and practice of diagnosing, treating and managing STIs, HIV and other sexual health problems.

  • To innovate and deliver excellent tailored education and training to healthcare professionals, trainers and trainees in the UK.

  • To determine, monitor and maintain standards of governance in the provision of sexual health and HIV care.

  • To advance public health in relation to STIs, HIV and other sexual health problems.

  • To champion and promote good sexual health and provide education to the public.

It is important that BASHH does not stray into the realms of being a trade union but offers appropriate support to its members.

So who runs BASHH ?
