  • *Of the 250 participants, 172 informed their partners of their most recent STI. Of these, 83 notified their main partner; 138 notified their casual partner.

  • †Univariate analysis for PN to main partner was conducted on the 184 MSM who reported a main partner during OLE follow-up; for PN to casual partner, the 250 MSM having had at least one STI were considered.

  • ‡Multiple analyses for PN to main or casual partner were performed on the 177 or 235 participants with no missing data, respectively.

  • §High-risk HIV exposure: condomless anal sex (or not) at the most recent sexual encounter.

  • ¶High-risk behaviour: proxy combining the type of partner and high-risk HIV exposure variables at the most recent sexual encounter.

  • **Chemsex practice: being under the influence of chemical drugs (excluding Viagra, cannabis, poppers, tobacco and alcohol) during the most recent sexual encounter.

  • ††HIV risk perception: perceived level of risk of the most recent sexual encounter using a 10-point visual scale.
