The most important limitation in capture-recapture methodology is undoubtedly the effect of the dependence between sources, as this produces a downward bias in any maximum likelihood estimate (Hook and Regal, 1995; Wittes et al., 1974). However, we sought to determine and resolve these problems by using log-linear regression to model interactions between samples.
